Reading Informational Text 1 (Key Ideas & Details)

Kindergarten
With prompting and support, ask and answer questions about key details in a text.
  • Music: Listen to a song and answer questions about key details in the text. Informational text can be found in songs related to historical events or a variety of songs-that-teach.
  • Music, Art, Dance, and Drama: Discuss texts about musicians, artists, dancers, actors, musical works, works of art, dances, plays, movies, and/or artistic processes (e.g. how to play a musical instrument, how to create with various art media, how to perform specific dances, how to create props or sets). 
First Grade
Ask and answer questions about key details in a text.

Second Grade
Ask and answer such questions as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text.
